Meghan Kallman announces 2018 endorsements

Pawtucket: Ward 5 City Council candidate Meghan Kallman is pleased to announce that her candidacy has received endorsements from two labor groups: SEIU and Unite Here!, as well as the Young Democrats of Rhode Island, the Working Families Party, the RI chapter of the National Organization of Women, and the Rhode Island Democratic Party Women's Caucus.

“Meghan Kallman works every day to bring the concerns and hopes of her constituents to the table. She has supported initiatives to support and grow Pawtucket’s dynamic small businesses, and is clear eyed about the work ahead to make sure Pawtucket grows into a city that works for everyone. The Young Dems are behind her 100% in her bid for re-election to the Pawtucket City Council” said the Young Democrats in a statement.

"I am proud and humbled to receive these endorsements” Kallman said. “I will work for policies that support a healthy community and meets the needs of everyone in Pawtucket—including women, young people, and working people”.

In her first term, Kallman sponsored and supported a number of initiatives to improve public safety, foster healthy communities, expand clean energy, support small businesses, advance economic justice, and grow Pawtucket’s incredible arts and culture economy. She has made responsiveness to constituent concerns a top priority. Meghan also co-founded Crash Pawtucket, an organization that showcases small businesses in the city in partnership with neighborhood and community groups.

Kallman is running for re-election in Pawtucket’s Ward 5, which includes the Oak Hill and Woodlawn neighborhoods.
